Extra Chilli Megaways is a 2018 Big Time Gaming slot with a Mexican street market theme. It uses the Megaways engine with up to 117,649 ways, cascading wins and a free spins round where the multiplier keeps rising. A gamble wheel lets you risk your spins for more, and the Feature Drop offers a bonus buy. It suits you if you liked Bonanza and want a hotter, more volatile follow up.
How does Extra Chilli Megaways work?
Six reels each show between two and seven symbols, and an Extra Reel above reels two to five adds one more position. The number of ways changes every spin, up to 117,649.
Wins pay on adjacent reels from the left. Winning symbols are removed and replaced by new ones falling in, so one spin can produce a run of cascading wins. Wild symbols substitute for the regular pay symbols, and the ways count is recalculated after every cascade.
What are the Extra Chilli Megaways bonus features?
Landing the scatter letters H, O and T triggers eight free spins, with more spins for extra scatters. Before the round starts, you can gamble on a wheel to try for more spins, up to 24, at the risk of losing the feature.
In free spins the multiplier increases by one with each cascade and does not reset. The Feature Drop lets you buy the free spins, and its price falls as you collect coins in the base game. It is not available in every jurisdiction, including the UK.
Is Extra Chilli Megaways worth playing? RTP and volatility explained
Published RTP figures differ by mode. Without the Feature Drop the RTP sits between about 96.15% and 96.41%, while buying the feature returns between 96.26% and 96.82%. Check the game rules to see the exact figures at your casino.
BTG rates the volatility 5 out of 5. One detailed source gives a maximum of 43,440x across the free spins, while others list 20,000x, so treat the top figure as approximate.
An RTP of 96.82% is a long-run average measured over millions of spins. In theory about 96.82 units come back for every 100 wagered, but a single session can end far above or below that. Volatility describes how those returns are spread out, and at very high volatility a large share of the return comes from rare, large hits, so long losing runs are part of normal play.
