DAI is a dollar-pegged stablecoin created by the MakerDAO protocol, now part of the Sky ecosystem. Unlike USDT and USDC, it is not issued by a single company holding bank deposits; it is generated through over-collateralised loans on Ethereum. A smaller group of crypto casinos accept it, mainly appealing to players who already use decentralised finance and want a stable balance without relying on a centralised issuer.
How to deposit with DAI at an online casino
DAI is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, so a casino deposit is a token transfer to a 0x address. You need a little ETH in the same wallet to pay gas, because token transfers cannot pay their own network fee. Bridged versions of DAI exist on other networks such as Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Gnosis and BNB Smart Chain, but casinos usually accept DAI only on Ethereum mainnet unless the cashier says otherwise.
Two naming points can cause confusion. The protocol has introduced a successor stablecoin called USDS, and DAI can be converted to it, but they are separate tokens and a casino that lists DAI may not credit USDS. There is also an older token called SAI, sometimes labelled single-collateral DAI, which is long deprecated. Send the token your wallet lists simply as DAI, and if in doubt compare the contract address with an official source.
Because Ethereum gas costs are paid per transaction rather than per amount, DAI suits medium and larger deposits better than very small ones.
If you hold DAI inside a lending or savings protocol, for example as a savings-rate deposit, you will need to withdraw it to your wallet as plain DAI before sending it to a casino. Interest-bearing versions of the token have different contract addresses and will not be credited as DAI.
- Confirm the casino lists DAI and note which network it uses, usually Ethereum (ERC-20).
- Make sure your wallet holds enough ETH to pay gas.
- Copy the 0x deposit address from the cashier.
- In your wallet, select DAI on the matching network and paste the address.
- Check the address characters and the gas estimate.
- Enter an amount above the casino minimum and send.
- Keep the transaction hash and wait a few minutes for the deposit to be credited.
Withdrawing with DAI

If the casino supports DAI on a layer-2 network, fees there are typically much lower. Exchanges may add a flat withdrawal fee, and some casinos deduct a fee on payouts.
Because DAI aims to track one dollar, limits are easy to read and do not drift. Ethereum produces a block roughly every 12 seconds, and most casinos credit token deposits within a few minutes once their confirmation threshold is reached.
