New casinos often launch with bigger bonuses and modern sites, but they have a shorter track record. These casinos accept players from India and opened in the last two years; check the safety data before you deposit.
Can a new online casino be licensed in India?
No. Since the Online Gaming Act 2025 and its rules came into force on 1 May 2026, there is no licence for online casino games anywhere in India. The new Online Gaming Authority of India, a six-member body chaired by an additional secretary from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, registers e-sports and online social games, and registration for social games is voluntary. Neither category covers real-money casino games.
Goa and Sikkim license land-based casinos, but those licences do not extend to online casino games offered to the rest of the country. A new site claiming to be licensed in India for online casino play, or showing a foreign licence from Cura莽ao or elsewhere, is still offering a prohibited online money game.
Offering such games carries up to three years in prison and a fine of up to Rs 1 crore, and offences under the Act are cognizable and non-bailable. If a new site will not load or a payment is declined, that is the blocking and payment rules at work. Several companies have challenged the Act before the Supreme Court, and the position only changes if the court rules otherwise.
Are new casinos safe for players in India?
A new casino has fewer complaints simply because it has had fewer players. Look at the licence, the owner and whether the owner runs other casinos with a good record. Start with a small deposit and test a withdrawal early.
The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act 2025 bans offering, advertising and processing payments for online money games in India, including online casino games, while players face a 30% tax on any online gaming winnings.
